Club News

First of all, Chris is starting a fastest mile competition on June 1. The details are very simple and involve each person being timed over a mile of the literacy course. The award is based on percentage of overall improvement over the series and not the fastest pace per mile. It’s a great way to have fun and improve your performance all at the same time. There’s a link to the “Lancaster Mile” in the reblog below.

We also want to recognize all of the runners from Lancaster that participated in the Run Ballantyne 5k and 10k. The results are below.

5k

Courtney  Crompton  0:42:30 Melanie  Outlaw  0:35:57 Jody  Whitfield  0:25:45 Karen  Whitfield  0:28:54 Kohl  Whitfield  0:26:08

10k

Mike  Autry  0:52:49 Brent  Blalock  0:50:41 Alison  Foster  1:36:01 Rober  Foster  1:03:25 Josiah  Shrum  0:47:21 Mary Ann  Shrum  1:05:53

Last but not least, the run schedule remains unchanged for this week and there’s a link on the side bar for the current schedule.

New Schdeule and Format

We’ve had a bit of confusion on the new run schedule. To help everyone understand what we are trying to do, we’ll establish a set schedule and explain our “Bonus Run” policy.

A button has been added called “Current Schedule” to the right side bar in case this post gets buried in the site and you forget which day is which.

Starting Tuesday (May 15), we’ll begin the following schedule and will continue it until further notice.

Tuesdays @ 7PM - Arrowood Course; 3.1 miles in distance and begins at the Arrowood pool. The course can be view by clicking the “Arrowood 5k” button on the right side bar.

Thursdays @ 7PM - Forest Hills Course; 3.3 miles in distance and begins at the Forest Hills swimming pool. This is a more difficult course, but it’s great for building you up! The course can be view by clicking the “Forest Hills Course” button on the right side bar.

Saturdays @ 9AM - Literacy Course; 3.1 miles in distance and begins at the Carole Rae Dowling Parking Lot across from the USCL PE Center. The course can be view by clicking the “LALC 5k Course” button on the right side bar.

Please understand that we cannot guarantee attendance for each of these runs, but it’s a standing schedule, providing a guide on how and where you can meet up with people for a training run.

Now for “Bonus Runs”.

If you noticed last week, there were a couple of runs posted to the site for Thursday AM and Friday PM. We will add these to the site on a weekly basis and these “Bonus Runs” are other times that various individuals are getting in training and are offering for others to participate. It may fit into your schedule, it may not, but the offer is out there for you to participate. Many of these will be outside the scope of a normal jog and will involve specific training like intervals, tempo runs and hill repeats. Details will be listed, times provided and if the details suit you, then you are welcome to come along!

We hope this clears things up!

Ct5k Thursday at 7PM
Ct5k Thursday at 7PM

It’s the last workout before the big dance! There’s 3 miles on the schedule, but it’s really a run as much as you can. Run no more than the 3.1 of the race course becuase we don’t want anyone over doing it. Do what feels right to you and get your work in.

We’ll have a few words of encouragement before we start on Thursday so try to get there just before 7 so we can have a quit chat before taking off.

See everyone Thursday!

Ct5k Tuesday at 7PM

This is the final week people! We have 3 mile run tonight, 3 miles on Thursday and 3.1 on race day. We’re so close and you’ve all come so far in such a short period of time. Make every effort to get the most out of your workouts this week and it will pay off come Saturday.

See everyone tonight!

Club News

First of all, the next Ct5k clinic will be Saturday morning at 9AM. We’re nearing the end and missing a workout is not a good thing so everyone do your best to be at the Carole Ray building at 9AM on Saturday.

Best of luck to Brent and Chris as they run the Waxhaw Town and Country tonight at 7PM. They are both peaking at the right time and we expect them to turn in some great times Friday night!

Some TBD members of LR! are also participating in the CPCC Skyline 5k on Saturday morning as well. We’ll post results of both races and all participants on Saturday.
