Runner’s Instructions:

First of all, on behalf of The Lancaster Rotary Club and Lancaster Runs! Running Club, we would like to thank you for participating in our 5k race on Saturday.

Here are the basic instructions for obtaining your race materials:

Friday Packet Pickup:

4PM to 6:45PM at the Gregory Health and Wellness Center lobby - 512 Hubbard Dr., Lancaster, SC

Saturday Packet Pickup:

Find us at the registration tent/race site in the Carole Ray Dowling parking lot on 509 Hubbard Dr., Lancaster, SC. We will do this from 6:30AM, closing promptly at 7:30AM. Look for the Registration/Information sign and our volunteers wearing bright yellow shirts.

Please note that race day registration will be $30.

RAIN OR SHINE!

We’ve had numerous questions about the possible rain on Saturday morning. Rain or shine, the race will take place unless conditions become completely unsafe for the runners.

Event Times:

Kids Dash Start: 7:45AM

5k Start: 8AM

1 Mile Family Fun Run Start: 8:15AM

Also note that the Gregory Health and Wellness Center shower facilities will be available to any runner showing their race bib to the entry clerk. Special thanks to the staff for making this available to us.

PARKING:

Parking will be available at the University, Gregory Health and Wellness and the larger of the two parking lots at the Carole Ray Dowling Building. All will be marked with a lawn sign that says “PARKING”.

The Lancaster Runs! 5k Race for Literacy this Saturday

Online registration is closed, but you still have two opportunities to register for the race.

At the USCL PE Center (Gregory Health and Wellness) lobby from 4 to 7PM on Friday.
At the race site on Hubbard Drive from 6:30 to 7:30AM.

Please be aware of the following:

The price goes up to $30 on race day.
We will close race day registration at 7:30 sharp.

Registration has been strong and we are thankful to all of you who are going to participate.

If you’re on the fence, there’s still plenty of time to get in this race!

Please be advised that you can register in person on Friday at packet pick-up. This will be in the USCL PE Center lobby from 4 to 7PM on Friday.

There will also be race day registration from 6:30 to 7:30AM. It wll close promptly at 7:30AM, allowing RMS time to get race day runners loaded into the system. No new registrations will be accepted after 7:30AM on race day!!!

Brisk five-minute warmup walk, then:

Jog 2.75 miles

Couch to 5k Thursday Night

All three sessions will be the same this week:

.25 mile warm-up walk

Jog 2.5 miles with the goal of walking as little as possible (or not at all)

.25 mile cool down

Couch to 5k Tuesday Night

The routine for Saturday is very simple.

Brisk five-minute warmup walk

Jog two miles with no walking

For this routine the goal is to not walk. You can jog as slow as you need to, but do your best not to walk!

We’re late getting this out but LR! had a respectable showing at the Shamrock 4 Miler this weekend.

Brent - 31:44 for a new PR at the distance.

Cole - 28:31 for a new PR at the distance.
