Couch to 5k - Saturday @ 9AM
We’ll continue the training tomorrow at 9AM. The routine will be the same as it was on Tue and Thur nights.
We’ve got questions lately about the Race for Literacy and joining the club.
Registration for the race can be found here:
http://www.active.com/running/lancaster-sc/5k-race-for-literacy-2013
Info on joining the club is here:
http://www.lancasterruns.com/howtojoin
As an alternative to mailing in your club registration, you can just pass it along to a LR! member and we’ll take care of the rest!
Thanks and looking forward to seeing you on Saturday!

Couch to 5k - Tomorrow @ 6:30PM
Couch to 5k - Tomorrow @ 6:30PM
We’re looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow at 6:30PM. The routine changes again this week and goes like this:
Brisk five-minute warm-up walk, then:
- Jog 3 minutes
- Walk 90 seconds
- Jog 5 minutes
- Walk 2-1/2 minutes
- Jog 3 minutes
- Walk 90 seconds
- Jog 5 minutes
Then we will cool down for 5 minutes.
This is a step up for everyone, but remember that you will be doing this workout three times this week. By the third time, it will be much easier. Your positive attitude is as necessary as your running shoes, even though one of our C25K participants has proven that shoes aren’t required for a great experience!

Ct5k 2013 Begins Feb 19th
We’re happy to announce that we’re beginning the 2013 Couch to 5k program on Tuesday, February 19!
We’re planning to offer nine weeks of training that will take you from couch potato to 5k race finisher at the Race for Literacy on April 20.
Training days will be on Tuesday & Thursday at 6:30PM and Saturday at 9AM.
Until daylight saving kicks in, we will be training in the larger of the two parking lots at the Carole Ray Dowling building across the street from the USCL PE Center. This will give plenty of light and just enough room for our training during the first three weeks.
There is no cost associated with this training. We are doing this to support the Race for Literacy and promote the Lancaster Runs!
In the coming days, we’ll post the training plan, reveal some upgrades for more experienced runners and provide all the info you need to participate.
Spread the word!
