A few LR! members are running the Speed for Children in Need race this Saturday.
This is a really fun race and is very unique. It starts at the Z-Max drag-strip start line, runs to the end of the drag-strip, under the drag-strip, over the pedestrian bridge, under the speedway, into pit road, then one full lap around the track while your finish is displayed on the world’s largest TV screen.
How often can you say you participated in an event like this?
You can even hang out afterward and see the Christmas light demonstration since the race is at 3PM. Can someone say “I can sleep in and still run a 5k race?”.
If you sign up for this race, please be sure and specify Lancaster Runs in the team blank of the registration form. We’ve added the club to the team drop down list so all you have to do is pull it down and select it when registering.
Carpooling options are available. Just email the club or get in touch with one of us.
Congrats to the LR! runners that got up on Thanksgiving and pounded out a 5k or 8k!

Good luck to everyone!!!!
It was a banner day for the LR! yesterday.
PR’s were destroyed and 3 of our members completed their first ever half marathon. Not only did they complete it, they did VERY well in the process!
Many of our members worked for 12 hard weeks to make their goals a reality and it fills us all with great pride to see your hard work pay off!
Congrats to all of you!!! Great job!!!
This weekend, we will have several LR! members and friends running the Thunder Road Half-Marathon and 5k this Saturday.
Brandi, Karen and Jody are all running their first half and we are so proud of them for making it through training. For you first timers, take pride in knowing that the hard part is over and it’s time to have some fun!
We also have a few runners that are poised for PR times in the half and the 5k, so it’s an exciting time for the club and we want to wish everyone good luck for the race this Saturday.
For everyone going to the Expo Friday night, we’re all trying to meet at the Expo around 6:30 and we’ll try to grab some high carb dinner after we’re done with packet pickup and looking at the gear.
We’ll determine a Saturday morning meeting spot Friday night.
For anyone wanting to track the LR! participants, there’s a link that will allow you to do so.

You should be able to track a runner by name or bib number.
Let’s hope for clear skies!
Run wild everyone!!!!
This letter goes to show you that the little things we do for our local running community do not go unnoticed.

Some of us will stay around after the race and see what we can get into, others may not.
Good luck everyone!
We wanted to pass along some local race info for everyone. We all know how much work goes into putting together a race in a small county like Lancaster. It’s very difficult to get volunteer support and significant participation. We’re including some race events below and everyone please do what you can to spread the word, participate or volunteer.

Saturday, November 3rd 8AM - Springmaid Road Race 5k
This race has a bit of history considering it’s been going on since 1979! It’s a certified course and is being timed by Queen City Timing, so it’s a serious event.
Everyone please do what you can to support these local races. Think of it in terms of increasing the awareness of our sport in this area and the impact it could have on our Race for Literacy.
We’re switching it up a little bit and meeting at 6:30 PM this evening at the Literacy Course.
We’re also working on Fall/Winter plans and will post something soon.
